And as Tiny Tim observed, "God bless us, every one."

The curtains have opened and closed on the 7th grade production of Dickens' classic tale, A Christmas Carol.
Ah, another triumph to adorn the pages of my "Scrapbook of Theatrical Genius by Allison D. Carter."
So who cares if Mrs. Carter forgot half of her sound cues? Who cares that two students whom I will refer to as "Jatthew and Maneena" failed to enter and deliver their lines at a crucial moment? Who cares if everyone was packed into the Sharing Space so tightly that lifting an elbow would result in eye removal?
Certainly not the parents, teachers, and students in the audience.
And why, do you ask, was it such a stirring sensation?
Was it the insightful and evocative performances?
The authentic Victorian costumes?
The innovative, life-like sets?
No-No. None of those.
The play was a smashing success because of......the fog machine.

So there you go, kids.
If you want to put on an awesome play in a middle/elementary school, all you need is a fog machine.

Currently playing in my head: "I Want to Love You Madly" by Cake
Reading: "Holes" by Louis Sachar
