Jason is tossing Lucie and turning her upside down. She squeals and laughs, and life is normal. Suddenly, Jason looks thoughtful. He sits Lucie down and starts to let some drool escape from his mouth. She's staring up at him, with a contented, trusting smile. He smiles back and lets the drool fall and splatter on her forehead. She looks confused, then smiles again. I am wondering what exactly is going on in my husband's head. Perhaps this is some sort of bonding thing that he read about somewhere. Lucie doesn't seem bothered, so I let the scene continue. Jason's drool plops on Lucie's cheek this time. Now I've gotta know what in the world he is doing.
"Honey? What's going on? Why are you drooling on our daughter?" I ask, assuming that he's got some interesting theory about communicating with babies through saliva. He's about to let another blob go, but he stops and looks at me.
"What?" He asks, giving me the duh look. "She does it to me all of the time."
"Jason!" I grab Lucie and head to the sink to clean her up.
Yes, this ACTUALLY HAPPENED.

Do you ever notice that Lucie has that same look whenever she gets a picture taken?
