Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired

Point #1: Please come to the 8th grade production of Into the Woods Jr. (May 24th and 25th, 7:00 PM, Valpo University Center for the Arts, free-will donations accepted; if you are a friend and are in the Valpo area you are required to come see it. Plus it will mark Lucia Hope's stage debut and you don't want to disappoint her now, do you?)

Point #2: Students are next to useless during work days. I asked my students to create an abstract tree by tying sticks to a 26'x4' rope frame. They were great for the first 5 minutes. Then, I look over and they have abandoned their work and are playing on the monkey bars. I corral them back to the tree and they all start asking if they can have their lunch break. (It was 10:00) 5 minutes later, Roger and Gustave wander into a grove of trees and engage in what appeared to be a wizard fight with tree limbs. I see a long and promising future in LARP for the two of them. (Lightning bolt! Lightning bolt!)

Point #3: The students created paper mache masks, and JaMawn created the creepy clown man from the Saw films. I told him it creeped me out and that he needed to put it away. He put it away alright. He set it upright facing out in his locker and left the door open. All of the lockers face me directly, so I looked up and saw scary clown staring me down. I gasped and yelled at JaMawn. He giggled. That little punk is going to fail art class.

Point #4:
Do what the onesie says, yo. The man with the manical grin behind her is gonna eat her toes if you don't.

Playing: Nothing becuase my CD player malfunctioned on the way to work. I had Wilco ready to go. Curses!
Reading: A student borrowed my Jane Eyre, so I'm gonna read Shadow of the Bull while I'm waiting.

Hey Al, students aren't the only ones that don't cooperate when it comes to work. Believe me I've got stories up the wazoo (i think I spelled that wrong, Eh). However, I won't bore anyone with my complaints.
Just stopping in to say hello :)
And I have a knew blog. I tried to log into my old blog, but it seems that I have forgotten my password and blog name. Nothing interesting up yet. Soon. Very soon. :)

I have noticed a typo in my posting..."knew" should be "new." Wow, and I want to be a teacher...I guess I better work on my spelling :)
