It was a pleasure to burn... to see things blackened and changed.

Well, this has been an action-packed week! I attended the Hand in Hand Lutheran Educators and Pastors conference on Monday and Tuesday and then visited Ali la Deux on Tues and Wednesday. The former Miss Bright has a fabu new apartment with billions of cats and approximately 580 wedding photos. Go visit her, everybody; she's a gracious hostess.
My agoraphobia told me that I wasn't going to enjoy this conference at all, but it proved to be informational and entertaining. Plus it gave me the opportunity to single-handedly save the future of all Lutheranism. Or at least Lutheranism in the Indiana district. During the Monday night banquet, one of my tablemates set the bread basket a tad bit too close to the candle. I noticed that something smelled amiss, and I then realized that the napkin was on fire. With cat-like reflexes I snuffed out the conflagration and earned the gratitude and respect of my distinguished company, including Walt Keller's son who is a pastor in southern Indiana. Just think- if I hadn't been there, the whole hall would have gone up in flames, and all of those Lutheran teachers, pastors, deaconesses, as well as the Missouri Synod president would have perished. I'm surprised that I wasn't honored on the spot. Really, they should probably change the name of the denomination from Lutheranism to Carterism. From now on people will go around saying that they are Caterans. You all can send your thanks in the form of checks or money orders to Allison Carter the Awesome.
